37th Annual Meeting (2001)

This year's meeting will stress the role played by the chemical engineer in the non-traditional industry.

Recent years have seen an increasing proportion of chemical engineers employed as process engineers in microelectronics, pharmaceutical, biotechnology and Hi-Tech materials industries, including a sizeable number in start-up ventures. This may have implications on the course content at the educational institutions, on needs for continuing education, on the adaptation of the traditional chemical industry to compete by providing attractive jobs and salaries, and more.  In addition to this change being reflected in the program, a panel discussion will be devoted to this topic toward the end of the meeting
